How do I view details of where an email message came from in Outlook 2003/2007/2010/2013?

The header information of an email message details the path a message takes to get from one computer to another. To view this information:
  1. Start Outlook.
  2. View the properties of the message.
    • In 2003/2007:
      1. Right-click the email message for which you want to view the headers.
      2. View the options.
        • In 2003, from the drop-down list, select Options....
        • In 2007, from the drop-down list, select Message Options....
    • In 2010/2013:
      1. Open the message for which you want to view the headers.
      2. In the message window, select the File tab.
      3. Click the Properties button.
  3. To the right of Internet headers, the header information will be listed.
  4. Click the Close button.
