How do I configure Outlook 2003/2007/2010 to automatically check my mail at regular intervals?

  1. Start Outlook.
  2. Navigate to the advanced setup options.
    • In Outlook 2003/2007:
      1. From the Tools drop-down list, select Options....
      2. Select the Mail Setup tab.
    • In Outlook 2010:
      1. Select the File tab.
      2. In the left pane, select Options.
      3. In the left pane, select Advanced.
  3. Click the Send/Receive... button.
  4. Under Setting for group "All Accounts", place a check in the Schedule an automatic send/receive every __ minutes check box.
  5. Under Setting for group "All Accounts", in the Schedule an automatic send/receive every __ minutes text box, type the number of minutes you want between each mail check.
  6. Click the Close button.
  7. Click OK.
